Point’s breakdown will be 50 points for 1st, 48 for 2nd, 46 for 3rd, 44 for 4th and 42 for 5th and one point on until all boats weighing fish have been awarded points. Any boat not weighing fish will receive 5 points less than the last boat to weigh a legal tournament fish, with all points counted to determine Points Champion. See Tournament Rules for payback. Tournaments will be held in all cases except in the event of a natural disaster or in the case of severely inclement weather. (Severe weather warnings such as hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.) Cactusworms.com 2008 Series Tournament Rules 1. Entry Fee - $65.00 per boat plus optional $10 for BIG FISH or total $75.00 per boat. 2. Teams must fish 4 of the 7 pre-classic scheduled events to qualify to fish the Cactusworms.com Classic. If any team makes a substitution the team must have fished 4 of the 7 to fish the Cactusworms.com Classic. Any substitute must have fished at least 3 of the pre-scheduled events to qualify to fish in the Cactusworms.com Classic. If fished as an individual, 4 of the 7 must be fished to qualify. If a team splits during the Series, the points will be split between the team at the time of the split, and above rule applies to qualify for the Cactusworms.com Classic. Split teams can only join with another from a split team (with split points). Points Champion(s) will be awarded plaque(s) at the end of the Series and a yearly ramp pass to Whippernock Marina. In the event of a tie in points, total weight for the Series will be used to determine Points Champion(s). If weight and points tie, the flip of a coin will be used. The first and second place plaque(s) will have a statement referencing the coin toss. 3. Ramp fees are the boater’s responsibility, and are to be paid to the host marina. Boats do not have to launch from the marina but are encouraged to support the host marina. 4. Pay Back Guide: 1 to 5 boats – 1 payout, 6 to 9 boats – 2 payouts, 10 to 14 boats – 3 payouts, 15 to 19 boats – 4 payouts, 20 to 24 boats – 5 payouts and so on. The BIG FISH pot of $10.00 per boat is optional and is paid back 100% to the team weighing in the biggest fish at each tournament. 5. Registration time - starts as early as 1 ˝ to 1 hour before Blast Off. Live well must be checked prior to launching by a Tournament Official. “The Luck of the Draw” will determine boat position. The Check-in time will be 2:00 pm unless announced differently prior to Blast Off. Checking in late will result in DISQUALIFICATION for that tournament, and result in the least amount of points being awarded. Check-in is: A team placing their Luck of the Draw tag into the check-in box (at the host marina) prior to the designated check-in time. Any Team not turning in the Luck of the Draw tag may be required to start their next event with a minus 15 points. 6. Tournament waters are off limits 1 day prior to a scheduled series event, and 3 days prior to the Cactusworms.com Classic. Information from outside sources is ALSO PROHIBITED. 7. 5 fish limit per boat. No more than 5 fish in live well AT ANY TIME. No culling of DEAD FISH. 1/4lb (4 oz) penalty will be assessed to the total weight per dead fish weighed in. All fish must be 14" and over. All fish measured by Closed Mouth and Pinched Tail. Any boat attempting to weigh in more than 5 fish will be disqualified. Any boat weighing in a “short” fish will lose the weight of its largest fish. Artificial bait only, one rod per contestant in use at a time. 50-yd distance from anchored tournament boat must be maintained. Each boat is responsible for returning its catch to the water, with the exception of Weight Citations. 8. ANYONE INVOLVED IN UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT WILL FORFEIT PRIZE MONEY, IF SO AWARDED, AND BE BANNED FROM FUTURE EVENTS. All posted “NO WAKE” zones MUST BE ADHERED TO, and any special announced safety issue(s). 9. All contestants must have personal flotation devices on before boat is put into gear. Running lights and Fog Cover rules apply when necessary. Announcements pertaining to these issues will be held prior to Blast Off. Tournament Officials, assisting staff, its advertisers, nor host marina will be held liable in the event of negligent acts by anyone entered or participating in these tournaments. 10. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PERMITTED DURING REGISTRATION OR TOURNAMENT HOURS. 11. The Tournament Staff has the right to refuse ANY Entry Fee for ANY reason it deems necessary. 12. NO Full-time Guides are permitted to fish these tournaments. 13. Any protests must be made within 15 minutes of Check-in. Determination of protests is at the discretion of Tournament Officials present. Unwillingness to submit to a polygraph will be cause for disqualification, forfeiture or prize money and banning from any future events. 14. Any violation of the above rules or applicable governing game and fish laws will result in disqualification and banning from any future events. Rev. 01/15/08 |
